WATCH: Hanover Park and Manenberg residents welcome patrolling soldiers

Hanover Park and Manenberg residents in Cape Town have welcomed the deployment of the South African National Defence Force on Thursday.

Troops were seen patrolling the streets on foot and in armoured vehicles to the delight of residents who told News24 they were happy to see them.

It comes a week after Police Minister Bheki Cele announced the army would be deployed to assist the police in crime-ridden areas in the Western Cape.
