Struggle veteran Winnie Madikizela-Mandela has died at the age of 81, her family confirmed in a statement on Monday.

She died after a long illness, for which she had been in and out of hospital since the start of the year.

An urgent media conference was scheduled at the Netcare Milpark hospital on Monday April 2, 2018. Watch.
