The first State witness in the trial of five men accused of the murder of footballer Senzo Meyiwa, painted a picture of the bloodied and bullet-riddled crime scene.

Sergeant Thabo Mosia, a forensics fieldworker, arrived at Kelly Khumalo's Vosloorus house at 00:20 on 27 October 2014.

He gathered forensics evidence when he arrived at the scene, the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria heard.

Throughout Monday, the State's focus was on how the evidence was collected at the crime scene.

He is expected to resume on Tuesday and continue with his evidence-in-chief before he is cross-examined.
