A forensic psychiatrist hired by Jason Rohde was dismissed on Tuesday, after the Western Cape High Court rejected her testimony.
Defence witness Dr. Larissa Panieri-Peter testified about Susan Rohde's mental health on Monday. However, Judge Gayaat Salie-Hlophe pointed out that Panieri-Peter did not have the same benefit that Susan's clinical psychologist, Jane Newcombe, had in being able to consult with her.
Rohde stands accused of killing his wife in a hotel room in July 2016 and staging her suicide.
On Tuesday morning Judge Salie-Hlophe ruled that Panieri-Peters' testimony went far beyond the scope, expertise and role of the witness. She further ruled that the testimony be disregarded.
The trial will resume on Tuesday 19 June, when the next defence witness is available.
