Defence advocate Malesela Teffo, who has a history of butting heads with judges, was reprimanded on Monday after he refused to listen to Judge Tshifhiwa Maumela.

Teffo represents four of the men accused of the murder of former Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa.

Meyiwa was shot dead on 26 October 2014 at the home of his girlfriend, Kelly Khumalo, in Vosloorus, Ekurhuleni.

The five accused – Mthobisi Mncube, Muzikawukhulelwa Sibiya, Bongani Ntanzi, Mthokoziseni Maphisa, and Fisokuhle Ntuli – pleaded not guilty to charges of murder, attempted murder, armed robbery, illegal possession of an unlicensed firearm, and illegal possession of ammunition.
