Defence attorneys will continue their cross-examination of Sergeant Patrick Mlungisi Mthethwa when the trial into the murder of Senzo Meyiwa continues in the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria on Friday.
Mthethwa, the first police officer to arrive at the Vosloorus home where Meyiwa was shot dead, took the stand earlier this week. He is the second witness to testify in the trial.
Glaring contradictions have now emerged in the testimony of police officials.
Police effectively opened two dockets for the murder of Meyiwa, five years apart.
The first docket is currently before the court, and the accused are Muzikawukhulelwa S'Tembu Sibiya, Bongani Sandiso Ntanzi, Mthobisi Prince Mncube, Mthokoziseni Ziphozonke Maphisa, and Fisokuhle Ntuli.
The second docket allegedly contains different findings and an entirely different list of suspects.
