The first witness in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial in the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria was the forensic field worker who first arrived on the crime scene.

The counsel for one of the accused has attempted to get Sergeant Thabo Mosia to concede that crucial investigations weren't done.

These investigations could have either exonerated or implicated those present in the house on the evening Meyiwa was shot.

Meyiwa was shot dead on 26 October 2014, at the home of his girlfriend Kelly Khumalo in Vosloorus, Ekurhuleni.

The five accused – Mthobisi Mncube, Muzikawukhulelwa Sibiya, Bongani Ntanzi, Mthokoziseni Maphisa, and Fisokuhle Ntuli – pleaded not guilty to charges of murder, attempted murder, armed robbery, illegal possession of an unlicensed firearm, and illegal possession of ammunition.
