WATCH: May day protests call for more than just worker rights

accreditation

In South Africa the Congress of South African Trade Unions, COSATU, organised a workers day event that saw gathered protesters calling for President Jacob Zuma to step down, a call echoed in previous protests organised after President Jacob Zuma reshuffled cabinet.

International workers day has been used not only as a day to bring attention to worker rights but also a day to bring much needed attention to other persistent socio-political and economic concerns.
