Gauteng police are searching for four people following a hijacking and robbery in Westdene, Johannesburg, on Saturday, 21 August.

CCTV footage, shared on social media, shows a white Volkswagen Polo pull up behind a father and son, who are sitting in their Mercedes Benz.

They are held up at gunpoint, after which the son is forced into the Polo. The father is forced into the backseat of the Mercedes Benz. The victims are driven around before being dropped off in Soweto.

"It is alleged the suspects took the complainant's cellphone and wallet, with bank cards. The complainant later realised the suspects withdrew more than R5 000 from his bank account," said police spokesperson Captain Mavela Masondo.
