Many schools introduce entrepreneurial skills development from a very young age. These skills include emotional intelligence and risk taking, as well as resilience and even creativity.

From as early as preschool, children are taught to familiarise themselves with their target audience, analyse data and work out their costs so that they can budget accordingly. It’s just disguised as the always exciting and fun-filled market day. And yes, the little ones' parents do all the work but at least they get exposure to the process.

Tips and tricks

You can use any colour nail polish you’d like to create the marble effect. We felt that the brighter the colour, the better the marble effect. In sparse areas you might not see the marble – it sort of fades a little too much into the cup.
After your nail polish is dropped into your water, swirl it with a toothpick. While this isn’t a must, it creates pockets of colour that results in varied textures on the mug.
You need to move quite quickly! If you leave the nail polish in the water for too long, it forms a layer of skin that will transfer onto your mug.
You don’t necessarily have to use kebab- or chopsticks to let your mug dry. We would however suggest you don’t use a rack or newspaper as the nail polish will stick to these, whereas the sticks will absorb the water.
You don’t have to coat your mug in decoupage glue (modge podge), but this will ensure that the effect lasts a little longer. It also protects it should you put it in the dishwasher after you’ve enjoyed a good cup, ahem, of tea.
