Little Sithi Maweni loves animals.

In her heart, she's a vegetarian, but she knows that sometimes you eat meat to survive.

"I love you, Cowie. I know I'm eating you, but I'm eating you to survive," Sithi aka sithi_pancake says directly to the piece of meat she's eating in a video that's been viewed more than 160 000 times on Instagram.

The adorable 7-year-old has clearly come face to face with the guilt that many animal lovers who can't resist a good piece of meat feel from time to time.

However, she's learned to embrace the feeling.

"If you don't have anything to eat, we can eat animals sometimes," Sithi rationalises.

The local cutie also had a word to farmers, who she warns to "do a good job".

"You farmers, take care of your animals," she says.

When asked by her mom if this is the last piece of meat she's going to eat, Sithi firmly says no. And even though she loves cows, she says she "just wants to survive".
