The Cambridges appear to have welcomed a new member to their family and it happens to be an 8-month-old cocker spaniel puppy. 

The pup was a gift from Kate's brother, James Middleton. 

The couple's beloved previous dog Lupo died in November and the new puppy is believed to have been bred by James from Lupo's sister. 

The Cambridges are yet to choose a name for their new addition but we're sure it'll be adorable. 

Dogs are the most popular choice of pet for the royals. Watch the video above to see how many dogs the queen and other royal family members have owned over the years.
