Warm arms that embrace, comforting words and a soft body to sleep on: That's how children perceive a nanny. 

For many children, particularly those who have working, divorced, bereaved, or even mentally ill parents, their nanny is constantly, consistently there, feeding, dressing and most importantly, comforting them.

Nannies are an emotional lighthouse - a safe and dependable harbour in a tumultuous world, and in many households they become the third (or sometimes even the second) parent.
