Top 10 Disney moms
Top 10 Disney moms

It's no accident that every child we know can sing every Disney song there is.

The music and the personality of the characters stick with them long after the credits have rolled.

Not only can we delight in the attentiveness of our kids, but Disney movies have something for us as parents, too.

From sweet and caring to tough and protective mothers, you may even get some age-old parenting advice or inspiration from these moms and their parenting styles. Who knows?

Here is our top 10 list of Disney moms we love:

Eudora - The Princess and the Frog

A widow raising a teenage daughter in New Orleans, Tiana’s mom is a modest woman who raises a fine hard-working daughter. She has only best wishes for Tiana.

She is her daughter's best friend. Tiana is an aspiring young chef who works as a waitress for two local diners so she can save enough money to start her own restaurant, a dream she shared with her deceased father. However, Eudora want Tiana to get married and have children. That's not all Tiana can be, Eudora.

Sina - Moana

“Sometimes, who we wish we were, what we wish we could do, it’s just not meant to be.” — Sina

Sina is a loving and nurturing mom to Moana. She supports brave Moana in restoring the heart of Te Fiti against her strong-willed father.

I'm still not sure how she could encourage a 16-year-old to go into the dangerous ocean though — one that killed her father's friend no less.

Queen Iduna - Frozen

Queen Iduna, mom to Anna and Elsa, is the voice of reason and a peacekeeper in the family, always trying to bring her daughters together.

Struggling to find a balance between Elsa's magical powers and the safety of her family, Queen Iduna, along with her husband, decide to let Anna stay alone so she can learn to control her powers.

It can be assumed that she cares deeply for both her daughters, helping Elsa when she's distraught and Anna when she is hurt.

Coral - Finding Nemo

Coral has to be the best mom of all time. Even with her short screen time, she immediately steals our hearts.

She does the most selfless thing any mother could do to save her child's life. A true superhero.

Queen Arianna - Tangled

“Rapunzel, before I met your father, I was so much like you. I had no idea what I was supposed to do in this world. So I went out and found my own way.” — Queen Arianna to Rapunzel

In the movie, she is shown as a caring, supportive, and kind mother to Rapunzel. She is also shown to be very accepting in that she immediately welcomed Eugene into the royal family upon realising he was partially responsible for her daughter's return.

Her personality quickly establishes her as someone her daughter can confide in during times of uncertainty.

Claire Clancey - Fancy Nancy

Mom to glitter-loving Fancy Nancy, Claire always teaches her children to be unique expressions of themselves. She shows her two girls how to become the best they can be.

Probably every child's dream mom.

Andy's Mom - Toy Story

A true example of a hands-on single mom, Mrs Davis is a loving mother to Andy and Molly, but, without meaning to be, a major threat to the toys.

Her house is always up to standard and she always looks after her son's toys, which is probably why the toys feel threatened by her.

She is dedicated and establishes rules for her family.

Oxana Hauntley - Vampirina

Running the Scare B&B and hosting various monster guests, Oxana is a loving and caring mother to Vampirina. However, I must say she is not the best cook and Vee's friends would agree with me on this one. She has hired a Chef, Remy Bones, to help her prepare dishes.

Like her daughter, she is eager to be in the human world but also gets overwhelmed and anxious.

Miranda - Sofia the First

Miranda is a new Disney mom, she breaks the step family stereotype with her relationship with her step children, Prince James and Princess Amber.

She is an ordinary girl from the village and she marries into royalty. She is step mom to the King's kids.

Mrs Potts - Beauty and the Beast

I cringe every time she says “Back in the cupboard now, Chip.”

Besides the fact that she named her son Chip, Mrs Potts is possibly the shadiest Disney mom, but there are many good qualities to her that we love.

She is the most intelligent, level-headed, and self-righteous member of the Beast's staff. As a mother, she can be very gentle and nurturing, while also being stern and no-nonsense, and shows great patience to her gabby son.
