With Wimbledon fast approaching, 23-time Grand Slam winner, Serena Williams, appeared on BBC Breakfast recently, discussing everything from tennis to parenting. But we know, from breastfeeding to teething, the mom to 18-month-old Alexis Olympia, endured her fair share of new mom struggles as we all do, so she said she felt it best NOT to give any parenting advice to her close friend, Meghan Markle.
“I never pass on words of wisdom because I feel like everyone, when they have a kid, especially when you just have a baby, it’s so difficult to just be.”
“Get through the first 3 months, 4 months, and then we can talk,” she commented.
Serena admitted that while Alexis Olympia will be two in December, she still doesn’t have the parenting thing down herself. “I’m a mess,” she jokes. But says her little one has certainly changed her life.
“Becoming a mom has changed my perspective on a lot of things. It also changed me... I want to leave a legacy. I want to be this positive person for my daughter. Everything I do, I want to do it for my daughter.”
