The new sex education curriculum has been a hot topic in parenting circles, and for good reason.

According to the Department of Basic Education, the new curriculum is focused on assisting "learners build an understanding of concepts, content, values and attitudes around sexuality, sexual behaviour as well as leading safe and healthy lives."

For many parents the concern is around how age-appropriate the content really is for young minds.
