Measles

accreditation
Measles is the most serious of the common childhood viral illnesses. The virus causes a fever, rash, runny nose and a cough. The eyes can also become sore and sensitive to light. Infants younger than a, malnourished children and immuno-compromised children can become very sick with the disease.

What to do

There is no cure for measles, so the symptoms need to be dealt with as they appear. Measles sometimes leads to other infections so if additional symptoms appear the doctor may want to give an antibiotic to deal with secondary bacterial infection.
