With the start of the school term just around the corner (15 January) you may be in a slight panic over getting your child back to school ready.
There's so much to do after all, stocking your child’s school bag with all the necessary supplies, covering books – and adding their names to every last thing, because stationery costs a pretty penny.
But, as always, we’ve got you covered with a comparison of popular retailers you can visit for the most affordable stationary supplies.
The comparisons were sent in to Parent24 by our readers Keith and Jacky.
While he doesn’t have a little one at school, the Port Alfred-based Keith says he was motivated to put together a list of prices for his domestic worker’s child.
He told Parent24 that he based his information on Back to School promotional leaflets and the retailers’ websites. The retailers he's included on his price list are Checkers, Pick n Pay, CNA and Pep.
He's also added an extra column comparing 2020 prices with last year's prices.
For Jacky, it became a necessity to be conscious about the family's spending when her husband lost his job more than a year ago. Now as the sole provider, she tells us, she's always on the look out for ways to save money. Her list includes prices from retailers Office national, Pick n Pay, Makro, PNA and Takealot.
