In March 2020, President Cyril Ramaphosa announced a national state of emergency and South Africa went into a lockdown as a necessary precaution to protect pupils and teachers from the Covid-19 pandemic. This included closing schools. 

This meant a big change in the way our children were educated, and meant a big shift, especially for matriculants.
