Valenture Institute is an exciting new global, online education space set to offer South African learners a highly engaging and socially rich learning experience supported by expert tutors and mentors.

The Institute’s mission is to evolve what it means to “go” to school by transforming physical limitations into digital opportunities. They do this by providing learners worldwide with a fully supported, global online high school experience, steeped in academic excellence and rooted in sustainable practices.

They believe in providing more than just a quality online education – they’re dedicated to building and empowering a purpose-driven, global student body and equipping them to make the best of both their individual and collective futures.

The Valenture Institute Offering

A major commitment of Valenture Institute is the offering of qualifications that widen future study opportunities for every student within a global context.

Their alignment with Pearson Edexcel allows for precisely that, with their International Advanced Levels (IAL) being recognised by universities worldwide for entry into undergraduate degree programmes and their International GCSEs being equivalent, grade-for-grade, to UK GCSEs and accepted by universities globally.

Admissions to Valenture close on the 26 November 2019 and the first cohort is set to begin in January 2020. Valenture Institute offer four levels of qualifications:

  • Junior High: Equivalent of Grades 8 & 9
  • International GCSE: Equivalent of Grades 10 & 11
  • International AS-Levels: Equivalent of Grade 12
  • International A-Levels*: Post Grade 12

Their curriculum focuses on subjects ranging from Maths, English, Business and Physics to Chemistry, Biology and Geography.

A Socially Rich High-Touch Approach

Students are supported throughout their academic experience by expert Teachers and Mentors. Weekly live classes per subject are taught by expert teachers. Students also work in smaller tutorial groups of no more than 20 students, facilitated by a dedicated Teacher.

Mentors provide 1:1 support to help students keep their learning and holistic development on track through bi-weekly calls. Here, students review their progress ahead of a monthly three-way check-in with their Mentor and their parents.

Valenture have created a socially rich environment where co-curricular and extra-curricular activities are not only highly valued but a cornerstone of their offering.

This is achieved through a variety of initiatives, with each student’s personal mentor aiding them in selecting the most relevant, appealing and interesting activities. These vary from online clubs and societies offered by Valenture to local sports or cultural clubs we have relationships with.

Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Labs

Valenture learners are actively encouraged to participate meaningfully in solving some of the world’s biggest problems while completing a quality online high school education that equips them for success in their individual futures. The uniquely constructed curriculum prepares students for the future they want, while enabling them to preserve the future they need.

In addition to shaping tomorrow’s leaders, they’re forging progress for people and the planet through an integrated, action-oriented curriculum that aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
