It's a hot day, the kids and their friends are in the pool and you're watching them. Carefully and paranoically watching. Their are many adults about – some in the pool – but you've decided to be on watch.

Next moment, even though you've been LOOKING at the pool, you realise a 7-year-old is pulling a spluttering preschooler out of the water – she'd been playing on the steps with her wings on, but somehow she lent it to a friend and subsequently missed her step and plunged into the shallow end.

I wasn't quick enough to spot that happening but thank God our friend's eldest was next to her to help.

Would you be able to spot a drowning child in a busy pool?

Lifeguard Rescue posted a series of videos showing life guards at a wave pool doing what they do best. One video in particular has gone viral – with nearly 15 million views – showing a life saver acting within seconds of a child's head going under the water on a very busy, very crowded day.

Can you spot the drowning kid?

The video was posted on behalf of the Genesis Project by the Parklands Foundation of Charleston County in the USA. The Foundation built public swimming pools in rural areas where the residents did not have prior access to pools, after the tragic drowning of a boy named Genesis Holmes. With these pools they're aiming to teach all the children to swim, and the life guards are on point!

Do your children know how to swim? Do you have CPR skills to help someone who nearly drowned?
