When it’s winter and playschool closes, parents’ hearts sink. Cue weeks of energetic cabin-fevered kiddies. If your little ones don’t cope when their routines are ruffled, you need these clever time-wasting ideas that will give you a moment’s peace.

When your kids have been watching too much TV, it’s time to get out the paints, crayons and play dough. A trip to the library is also a fun way to get out of the house and be sheltered from the rain, and bonus: new reading material to keep them occupied.

Stocking up on sticker and activity books is also a great idea.

But eventually even that can get tiresome. That’s when you need to get more creative. And in case you’re not feeling inspired, here are some ideas for every age.

Toddler

Toddlers have particularly short attention spans. So keeping these little hands and mind occupied can be extra time consuming. We've rounded up some great activities for those rainy days when the cabin fever just gets too much.
