For the past 23 years, Reading Matters South Africa, an education-focused non-profit, has been promoting language and literacy in SA.

The distributors of educational books believe that reading material should be both enriching and relevant to children in that they must reflect their world.

Now turning their efforts to assist parents in maintaining their children's education at home during lockdown, Reading Matters is making a collection of video stories freely available to young learners online.

Their goal is to inspire imagination and curiosity through the excitement of the stories.

Watch one of their videos below, or browse more on their website

All the stories are proudly South African and exude the colour and uniqueness entwined through our society, including stories like Nomvula's worst day at school, Mpume's Flag and Vava.
