If men could breastfeed

World Breastfeeding Week seeks to promote the health benefits of the natural way of feeding a baby.

But it's hard to mention breastfeeding without also highlighting one of the biggest controversies surrounding it: other people's total loathing of the act; be it male or female, in public or within the home.

Why is it that the female body is so comfortably accepted as an object of sexual desire as oppose to a source of nurturing?

Pinpointing the underlying reason for this disapproval is best left to the experts. But what if men could do the feeding? Wouldn't it be great?

If only men had to do half the things that women have to do! Menstruation, giving birth and breastfeeding, amongst many other aspects of a woman's life, can't we hand all this over to them, even if just for a day?

Would it change societal judgement on the topic?

Buzzfeed perfectly captured what we think would happen if men were responsible for breastfeeding. The outcome of course is exactly what you'd expect from men, take a look:

What would you expect to happen if your husband had to breastfeed? Do you think breastfeeding would be viewed with a completely different lens if men did the feeding?
