World Breastfeeding Week seeks to promote the health benefits of the natural way of feeding a baby.
But it's hard to mention breastfeeding without also highlighting one of the biggest controversies surrounding it: other people's total loathing of the act; be it male or female, in public or within the home.
Why is it that the female body is so comfortably accepted as an object of sexual desire as oppose to a source of nurturing?
Pinpointing the underlying reason for this disapproval is best left to the experts. But what if men could do the feeding? Wouldn't it be great?
If only men had to do half the things that women have to do! Menstruation, giving birth and breastfeeding, amongst many other aspects of a woman's life, can't we hand all this over to them, even if just for a day?
Would it change societal judgement on the topic?
