South Africa offers an extensive baby immunisation programme, available free at state clinics. Parents are also have the option to choose the private schedule, either in its entirety or to supplement the government programme. Here are both schedules.

Private schedule in SA

Visiting a private baby clinic doesn't come cheap but can be more convenient as one can generally make an appointment, thus avoiding queues. It also helps to relieve the burden on the state. Check with your medical aid whether they cover all or some vaccinations as included in their maternity benefits plan. 

The private schedule offers more vaccines than the state does, and these are optional. There are different variations and combinations in practice, so find out what the schedule is at your baby's private clinic.
