The sight of their two year old taking his first steps is something little Theo's parents thought they wouldn't see anytime soon.
That's because Theo has Down syndrome, and according to doctors and developmental specialists, he was unlikely to stand or move about independently until he was at least four years old.
This is why his mom Sophie was so ecstatic to see her toddler standing and moving about on his own.
The proud mom managed to capture the special moment on video.
"The medical professionals I spoke to, based on his low muscle tone and how weak he was, thought he would be doing this no earlier than fours years old. He couldn't even lift his head, and in certain positions, would even shut off his own airways," Sophie said in an interview with Buzz60.
Despite the diagnosis, the little toddler isn't letting his condition define who he is.
