It's hard to keep kids entertained at all times, and if your kids are anything like mine then you're hearing "I'm hungry!" fifty times a day, at least.
Here are 3 really simple interactive recipes that are easy enough for the kids to manage themselves, mostly, and even easier to clean up afterwards.
DATE BALLS
It doesn't get easier than this, and the kids can spend many minutes (those short attention spans, right?) rolling the mixture into balls. Great for sensory development!
Ingredients: Dates, chopped nuts, cocoa powder.
Method: Blend, roll... dip in chocolate if you like. Yum!
POPCORN PACKS
Another simple recipe that the kids can manage on their own (once you've popped the corn and disposed of the hot pan, of course).
Ingredients: Popcorn, mixed treats
Method: Pop the corn, mix in the various treats and bag for a tasty snack later.
LEMONADE POPS
So simple it doesn't even deserve a recipe, really.
Ingredients: Fruit, lemonade, a little bit of patience.
Method: Fill popsicle cups with fruit, top up with water and freeze until solid. Then out into the garden you go!
How do you keep your kids entertained?
