The wonderful world of fantasy

Ever since I could read I have been fascinated and intrigued by the fantasy genre: magic, spells and dragons in a mystical world where anything was possible. But when I met my husband, he took this fascination to a whole new level by introducing me to World of Warcraft, where I could be anything I wanted to be. A powerful and beautiful mage who could shoot fire from my hands or a hunter with a fearsome pet.

Role playing games (RPG’s) are games in which you level up your character and gain more and better skills. They allow a kid’s imagination to soar. He can be Naruto the Ultimate Ninja fighting against the evil Akatsuki organisation.

Or if you have a little foodie why not be a restaurant manager in Restaurant Empire? This game allows the player to build and operate their own restaurant franchise.

Now hands up, how many of your son’s want to be Wolverine? Now he can be the coolest X-Man by discovering the story in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

For the history buff there is Rise of the Argonauts. You play as the hero Jason, learn about Greek mythology and set sail on an epic voyage among them to seek out the Golden Fleece.

For the avid farmer there is nothing as addictive as Farmville on Facebook. Level up to unlock different crops and collect rare animals. While watching your cherry trees bloom, you can build your farm up to include a manor, a flock of sheep, a herd of wild horses and beautiful swans.

Does your child like role play games? Who’s his or her alter ego?
