A mall in Connecticut, USA, is proving that despite the rising number of Covid-19 infections in that country, "keeping up with the regular traditions" is still possible, with its Santa Wonderland decked with snow, tinsel and Covid safety protocols.

Is this something we'll soon be seeing in our own local shopping malls? Time will tell. In the meantime, we can learn from our neighbours across the pond.

"It's been very challenging times.... so we wanted to make sure we offer the tradition of Santa Wonderland as we've done for many years," said Loretta Mercado, the General Manager at Bass Pro Shops.

The Santa Wonderland features St Nick seated behind a plastic shield, and a little step where children are allowed to sit and share their Christmas wishes and take photos.

The area is cleaned in-between visits and safety measures like social distancing and temperature taking is adhered to.

"Even though we're in a pandemic, it's important that the kids are still able to be kids," said mom Stephanie Soares.

Will your kid be sitting on Father Christmas' lap this year?
