It’s barely winter, yet social media channels are swamped with sad, snotty trapped parents. Families can feel under siege from colds and other bugs – just as one family member claws their way out of the duvet fortress, another goes in. We know you have far better uses for your time than lying in bed surrounded by tissues, so here are a few ways you can keep the winter sniffles at bay:
1. Stick to trusted treatments. If your child is sick, chances are your doctor will have better way of fixing the problem than your aunty’s family fixes. Chicken soup may help you feel better, but it’s not the same as the right medicine at the right time. Read: How to fix sick kids
2. Stuffy noses and snoring. One of the most challenging aspects to sickness is when the family have stuffy noses. A child with a blocked nose is not a happy child, and the rest of you may all lose sleep over the freight trains of snoring coming from the other room. 4. Sleep deprived. Sleep is a commodity lots of parents cherish. You may be that unlucky parent who can’t remember when last you had a full night’s sleep, and illness in the home can make that worse.
