The goodest good boy: the 7-year-old who invented a holiday for dogs

If like myself, you happen to be a big lover of dogs, be sure to mark November 23rd off on your calendars and cancel any plans you may have – this is more important.

Thanks to the imagination of a particular little 7-year-old boy, it now happens to be a rather special day for our four-legged friends.

It's called "Wolfenoot", and is a holiday invented by a little boy in ode to the canine family. What started out as a precious little gesture on his behalf soon became a highly anticipated day amongst dog lovers all around the world.

It all began when the boy's mother, Jax Goss created a Facebook post describing her son's invention and soon enough, many people were on board.

As the Facebook post stipulates, the spirit of the wolf brings gifts around to everyone in the household but those who love and are kind to dogs get even better gifts.

So not only does this mean dogs are being celebrated but those who celebrate dogs get celebrated too.

Cake, gifts and plentiful doggos?  It already sounds like my new favourite day.

Here are a few of our favourite pictures dog owners tweeted of their canine cuties keen to participate in this day:
