American actress and comedian, Tiffany Haddish says she wants to adopt a child "by the end of the year".
In May 2021, Haddish shared that she had started taking parenting classes to prepare her for her plans to adopt and in an interview with E! Daily Pop, the Girl's Trip star, who is newly single after her breakup from rapper Common, shared her update on her plans to adopt.
The 42-year-old has previously said that she preferred adoption to having a baby of her own, given that having a "geriatric pregnancy" would involve taking hormonal injections.
'Hold up now!'
Haddish, who herself grew up in the foster system, is of Eritrean heritage and decided to visit her native land in her search to adopt.
"I just went to Africa. I was just in Eritrea, and people were trying to give me their kids," explained Haddish. "I was like 'hold up now, I gotta get the paperwork right now. I can't just be taking kids with me."
However, the published author wanted to emphasise that she isn't ready to adopt just yet.
"Maybe at the end of the year, beginning of next year," she added.
