Baby vs your marriage

After Andrea Botha wrote her column on her baby strengthening her marriage, our users commented and had a quite a bit to say. Apparently our readers don't agree that a baby can help your marriage. Take a look at their comments and add your own.

"What a bunch of BS - children will not improve or fix a marriage - so thinks very well before considering getting pregnant - do not be fooled by this article I do not say kids are not a Blessing - I said it will NOT fix your marriage!!!" - Dick Head

"But then the wife spends more time with the baby, neglects husband and husband starts an affair or visits prostitutes and stripclubs because wife gives more attention to baby and lost her figure and sex appeal? No thanks. I've seen the consequences in other families and in mine growing up. Don't try to romanticise it- it is not. And the world is overpopulated, so no need to try to trick people into falling for ye olde soapie lies." - Cynic

"This article can be misleading - a baby does not strengthen a marriage if a marriage is not working out - now someone will read this and think oh well if I have a child I can save my marriage. Maybe is should have pointed out that the marriage must be a well balanced one before having a child - yes, a child can strengthen a marriage IF BOTH PARTNERS are committed." - Olive

"What a bunch of nonsense, maybe one couple got stronger marriage. In reality you just have a 100 more things to fight about. Your turn to feed baby, don't tell me how to raise my kid, stop wasting all our money on stuff for baby. And then when baby is sick or has colic - that's when the fun starts, because a crying baby is sooo healthy for a relationship." - Jakes

"I have seen so many women having babies in order to "strengthen" their relationship. In 90% of the cases it does not happen. A baby and the father has left. Is this what you are encouraging?" - Ashley
