1. Substances in your face cream might affect fertility?
Common antioxidants include vitamins C and E. Antioxidants can also be found just about everywhere - food, drink and face cream. It seems that the "harmful" substances that antioxidants kill off, could be what the process of ovulation relies on. A study on mice suggests that anti-oxidants might have undesired effects.

2. Gum disease can delay pregnancy
If you want to fall pregnant you better be flossing and brushing those pearly whites regularly. In a recent study, it took women with gum disease just over seven months to become pregnant, compared to an average five months for counterparts with healthy gums. Is it really worth the wait when all it takes is a trip to the dentist and regular oral hygiene?

3. Food eaten as a child can harm fertility
Reproduction is influenced by the food men and women receive at an early stage in life, according to new research. Food received while in the womb or early after being born can limit the development of the reproductive system.
"Results show that the food received by children born into poor families had an influence on their later reproductive success." said Dr Rickard.

4. Was your mom obese? You could be infertile
Hormones involved in energy balance and metabolism, such as ghrelin, have been shown to regulate reproductive function in animals and humans. Problem is, levels of ghrelin are low in obese women and reports show that those whose mothers had low ghrelin levels were less fertile due to a defect in implantation.
