"My heart was torn out of my body, I wanted to die!"

I was 21 when I found out I'm expecting our first baby! My husband and I were ecstatic!

Everything went well and soon I was in my 3rd trimester. We were expecting a little girl, the gynae was happy except for me gaining almost 30 kg, about 4kg every week since the 3rd trimester started.

The doctor didn't do any extra tests he only asked me what the hell I'm eating to gain that much weight!

I really didn't eat differently from before I was pregnant! I was so swollen that I couldn't wear shoes and my knuckles was white, he also said that my blood pressure was high, but didn't worry too much.

At 38 weeks I noticed that she wasn't moving, I went for a check up only the day before and they didn't notice anything!

We called the doctor and they said I should eat a chocolate and come in.

On my way to Saint Mary's in Springs, I was praying for my baby to be okay, on arrival they did a scan and thank God there was a heartbeat!

He admitted me for observation over the night! Once admitted they strapped the heart monitor to my tum to check the heartbeat, they couldn't find one!

They rushed me into theatre for an emergency c-section! After waking up from anaesthesia, the first thing I asked was, is my baby okay?

The nurse said she didn't make it! My heart was torn out of my body, I wanted to die! Everyone cried and I had a terrible night!

I wanted to see her and I'm so glad I did, she was the most beautiful normal 3.2kg, 55cm baby I've ever seen!

I dressed her, hugged and kissed her with tears streaming! The doctors couldn't tell me why, until this day I don't know! I really think it was preeclampsia!

Her burial was extremely hard, and I will always miss her and wonder what if!

Please get a second opinion if you're worried! I personally believe that the doctor was negligent and too busy with all the appointments to worry about us!

At my 6 week checkup he actually asked me what I'm feeding my baby! That stung! I never went back to him!

Today I have a 4 year old daughter and 20 month old son and the most amazing doctor in the world who understood my every fear and false worry!

The other doctor has gone on pension! Our beloved Mickayla we miss you!
