For some parents, school exams herald the season of panic and trauma. Others get on with their lives, trusting their children to get on with it. And others still, are strict and provide a clear framework and certain expectations for their children.
Of course how your family deals with exams also depend largely on your children: some are more academically inclined, already having their summaries neatly stacked on their organised desks. Some kids learn through experience and play and may have a harder time memorising facts.
The fact is, our school exams require children to memorise certain facts and show understanding of others, there's no getting around it. So we've compiled a whole list of good articles, detailing various clever ways to study, plus links to study guides, cool websites and apps, and even past papers that can help your child to prepare for their various exams with confidence.
All the best, may you survive – and even thrive – during this year's end exams!

Useful SA educational resources
GENERAL: Here's a list of educational companies in South Africa who specialise in publishing study material for all grades and most subjects, following the CAPS curriculum. You may have to buy their study guides, or subscribe to a portal, but their worksheets, textbooks and study guides are top notch.
MATHS: We also have this list of educational apps, websites and other resources specifically for maths. Again, most work on a subscription basis but it may be worth it to help your child truly get maths.

Find your child's study style
Some children learn through listening carefully, others by seeing things visually, others by moving, thinking, or feeling... It's not an exact science but finding your child's best study style can help them to learn and understand the material in a way they find most comfortable.
Here's a short summary of study styles, with study tips to help your child maximise the time they spend studying.
Be careful of using only one method of studying, especially for different subjects. Even if you're an "intuitive" learner, you'll still have to sit and memorise certain facts.
