'Unprecedented challenges': Why schools have become the preferred target of cybercriminals

Ever since the very start of the global pandemic, the education sector has taken significant blows, forcing a move toward online education few schools were prepared to make. 

As a result, many "faced unprecedented challenges since 2020 as local mandates required schools to rapidly shift to remote, hybrid or socially distant learning," says Renee Tarun, the Vice President of Information Security for Fortinet, a US-based cybersecurity solutions company.
