I've waited WEEKS for this moment - our triplet gender reveal announcement! When I think about the weekend, it all still feels so surreal.

Remember Nicolyn was the only one who knew the genders, so all the prepping and planning was left in his hands.

And he exceeded my expectation! We went away for a little family breakaway, and I think that just made it so much more special. But before the fun began, we had our last appointment with the specialist.

This was to check the babies' organs, and to make sure that any abnormalities are ruled out.

And I can confirm…the babies' growth is right on track. Baby A now weighs 397g, Baby B 341g and Baby C 340g. So, I'm basically carrying a 1-kilogram sack of potatoes in my tummy.

I was super excited to see how big they are now, especially seeing them kicking and moving in real-time.

The Concept

Playing golf is one of Nicolyn's hobbies. So it came as no surprise that he would incorporate it in the gender reveal. He emptied three eggs and filled it with pink and blue colour powder, closed the holes on top with small pieces of sticky tape and painted the eggs different colours.

I know, A for effort, right? On Saturday morning, as I was getting dressed, the house suddenly went quiet. After a while, Nikolai came from the next room, excitedly telling me not to go in there. "It's a secret!"

I, of course, knew they were up to something. Nicolyn then put the eggs in the sun for the paint to dry. And all the puzzle pieces started falling into place.

The reveal

My brother-in-law and his girlfriend doubled-up as location scouters and film crew. On our way there I was nervous, not just because it was finally the BIG REVEAL, but also because it dawned on me that I had to become a professional golf player in two seconds! Eek.

It would be my first time, but not theirs… Nicolyn and Nikolai practically play golf almost every other evening in our backyard, so they were set for this reveal.

Nicolyn went up first. As expected, a perfect swing. Blue powder went up in the air! It's a BOY!!! Tears of joy came running down my face! The prodigy, Nikolai next.

Filled with excitement to hit the egg, we had to ask him a couple of times to just wait a few seconds so that we could capture some images of him first. We counted him down and boom! It's a girl!!!

I couldn't contain my excitement. I can already see myself playing with dolls and having tea parties!

My turn. YIKES. Extremely anxious about my level of skill, Nicolyn took me aside and asked me to show him my swing.

After my hopeless attempt, he could see I needed a quick five second training session LOL! Needless to say, I still missed my first shot (haha). But with my second swing… It's a boy!!!

We're having TWO BOYS AND ONE GIRL!

The girls will definitely be outnumbered in the household, but I wouldn't have wanted it any other way.We are so blessed to expand our little family and even more blessed that we get to do it with triplets.I'm more excited now and cannot wait to meet them.

I think Nicolyn is also a bit relieved that he doesn't have to carry this secret around anymore. Nikolai, on the other hand, still only speaks about one brother and sister!

We compiled a little video of the gender reveal.

Until next time…
