
A photo documentary created by photographer and mom Ashlee Wells Jackson is aimed at celebrating the changed appearance of women’s bodies after pregnancy, according to Jezebel.com.
The 4th Trimester Bodies Project
Jackson’s website offers more of an explanation: She calls for moms to participate in her photography project out of which she intends to create a gallery and a book dedicated to honouring the changes women’s bodies go through as a result of pregnancy, childbirth and breastfeeding.
It’s a positive message which is designed to undermine the shame some women feel at having stretch marks, scars or stripes added to their bodies after having a baby. You can see some of the amazing (and courageous) women who have already taken part in her gallery:
