Is Shiloh a tomboy?

Suri’s wearing high heels! The media goes crazy. Oh my God! Shiloh’s dressing like a boy! Once again, the media goes crazy. So Brangelina’s daughter is a bit of a tomboy. Big deal.

So what if Shiloh’s a little tomboyish? How is this detrimental to her well being?

I was a tomboy. I refused to wear skirts and I hated dresses. Pants and takkies made way more sense to me, they were better for climbing trees. I was surrounded by boys when growing up and I followed them every where and I’m no worse for it. I’d like to think I’m a bit tougher  and can handle more than most girly girls but that doesn’t mean I don’t like the odd smidge of makeup and I do own a few dresses, but I do still prefer my jeans and Chuck Taylor’s.

Shiloh has what, 3 older brothers and some extras. Way more boys to hang around with and be influenced by. Anyway, isn’t it a natural phase for children to choose their own clothes at around the age of 3 and make hundreds upon thousands of fashion faux pas? My niece recently wore her winter boots with a bathing costume to the beach. True story. She didn’t care.

But what really got me laughing was a quote by a psychologist on this whole matter, ‘Angelina has said she was bisexual in public—this is her bisexuality coming through...[Shiloh] is being guided into a bisexual role. Her mother is projecting this onto this particular child.’ Seriously? I think that’s such rubbish.

Let children be children I say. I agree that high heels aren’t the best of idea for 3-year-olds, but how often don’t little girls or boys for that matter run around in their mother’s high heels?

Naturally we’re interested in celebrities and their lives, but to start projecting sexual identities onto 3-year-olds is to lose the plot.

What do you think? Should we leave Shiloh the hell alone?
