A UK-based three-year-old Thomas Boffey managed to come to his mom's rescue after she took a tumble down the stairs in their home.

The toddler called for help after learning how to be a rescuer - from a YouTube cartoon.

"I was absolutely shocked by how a three-year-old can manage to phone for help and ask for the right help," says mom Kayleigh of the paramedics' reaction.

"They said not many children his age would understand," Kayleigh noted of what the paramedics said of her brave boy.

Kayleigh says she's sure that Thomas learned about emergency services from the YouTube children's programme he's been watching since she's not ever taught her son about who to call in case of emergencies herself.

The mom urges parents to teach their children what to do in similar situations.  Watch Kayleigh describe what happened and how her son came to her rescue in the video above.
