Mark your calendars because 2016 is already promising to be a big year for Disney-loving kids around the world.

A new Disney film called 'Moana' is all about a young girl named Moana Waialiki who sets sail in search of a fabled land. The movie is set in the Pacific world of Oceania and will boast the demi-god Maui as Moana's sidekick. The duo will be encountering sea creatures, underworlds and ancient folklore while adventuring.

The movie was originally set to release in 2018 but the animated musical already has fans and Disney has decided to push the release forward to 2016. What the fans want, they get.

Better than Frozen?

Disney princesses have always been popular but after the massive hit, Frozen showed that princesses don't always need a prince to save them, the call for strong female characters has never been louder.

Moana is set to be another strong character while she conquers monsters and sets sail in the Polynesian fantasy musical.

More merchandise

We all know that Frozen is Disney's highest grossing film ever. According to Box Office Mojo, the film has earned more than $1.2 billion worldwide.

With the release of another Disney hit, we can only imagine that parents will once again be forking out large sums of money for Moana outfits, parties and dolls. Are you ready, parents?
