Breaking Bad toy for KIDS?

A toy company has come up with what could be the most tasteless toy in decades: A construction set modelled on the edgy TV series Breaking Bad, the primary story lines of which involve the making and distribution of the drug crystal meth, according to the Daily Mail.

Sold out

Novelty toy company Citizen Brick has provoked outrage in social media accounts with a $250 “Superlab playset”, which includes figurines similar in appearance to Breaking Bad characters such as Walter White and Gustavo Frame. The popular set is currently sold out.

Spoiler alert: In case you haven’t seen the programme, Breaking Bad is the story of mild-mannered teacher Walter White who decides to start making and selling crystal methamphetamine, and it charts his descent into a dark, dangerous and often sordid world of drug dealers and users.

NOT  LEGO!

The makers of the set run a company which creates custom figurines as well as novelty sets with the appearance of LEGO, but they are not affiliated to the Danish company LEGO in any way. The sets are quite funny in an adult way, but critics suggest that underage kids are already watching Breaking Bad (which has lots of bad language, nudity and violence) and that the “toy” could make light of a serious issue.

What do you think; is a Breaking Bad meth lab-themed toy potentially dangerous?
