Italian helmet manufacturer Kask has added the Wasabi to its range of customer helmets, after teasing the design throughout the pro racing season, in Europe.

This high-performance helmet is not discipline-specific. It has been designed to be worn across all seasons by gravel, road and cross-country mountain bike riders.

The Ineos Grenadiers pro team have done extensive testing in training and events like the mixed surface Strada Bianchi, to help perfect the new Wasabi.

Kask’s Wasabi is designed to be a helmet for all weather and riding conditions, thanks to a series of adjustable vents. These vents allow the rider to increase or decrease ventilation quickly, giving optimal comfort and temperature control, especially in cooler or wetter weather.

A true dual-purpose lightweight helmet

With the push of a button, the centralised vent can be opened or closed and is said to increase the helmet’s internal temperature by 1.5-degrees. Wind tunnel testing confirms that the Wasabi is one of the fastest helmets on the market today, with a low drag-coefficient.

How aerodynamic is the Kask Wasabi running with an open vent, on a sweltering summer day? It will cost a rider only one watt lost at 50km/h with the vent open instead of closed.

Inside, a merino wool moisture-wicking liner is sure to remain dryer and odourless for longer, while the Octo Fit head retention system ensures that the helmet remains in place.

A world class helmet, soon in SA

The Kask Wasabi is terrifically light too, at just 290 grams, which means you won’t even feel it on those five hour weekend outrides.

Kask takes safety seriously. The Wasabi is Kask WG11 tested, a protocol based on scientific sources, for measuring helmets against rotational impacts.

The Wasabi is manufactured in sizes small, medium and large. To ensure riders find a Wasabi to match their apparel style or frame design, this new Kask helmet is available in six colours, including matt black and matt white.

The Kask Wasabi is due to arrive on South African shores very soon and will retail for R5499.
