  • Design your own frame from its colour scheme to geometry.
  • Send your bike fit numbers and build that perfect fit frame for your body type.
  • These custom bikes are designed, engineered and fabricated in Italy.

If you are the type of cyclist looking for something a little more unique and boutique, then Officine Mattio could be exactly that.

Bikebay is taking responsibility for importing and local customer support, relating to these customised premium bikes.

With Officine Mattio you aren’t merely getting a cool personalised paint scheme and exclusive brand sticker. The customisation goes much further than that. Partnering with designers in Italy, you can specify frame geometry, specific to your needs.

Those riders who obsessive tailor their bike fit data can send Officine Mattio the numbers, assisting designers in helping you build the ideal frame. Almost every aspect of the geometry can be adjusted: top tube length, seat- and head tube angle, reach and chainstay length.

A generous diversity of components are also available for selection, to complete your custom Officine Mattio bike build project.

Carbon and steel frame options

Riders can opt for a variety of frame materials, from Italian woven carbon-fibre to steel or stainless steel. Those looking for the ultimate in lightness might want to customise the Officine Mattio SL model, which has a combined fork and frame weight of only 990g.

Officine Mattio has also designed a hybrid gravel/road bike in the Santiago. The carbon frame and fork still weigh less than 1kg and can be fitted with road or gravel wheels. If you get a secondary wheelset for it you can have a bike that’s perfect for both surfaces without any downsides.

Only the best materials are sourced for Officine Mattio bikes. Its carbon fibre is manufactured by Toray, a company that has been weaving high-performance carbon fibre longer than any other in the world.

The steel frames make use of Columbus XCR and Spirit HSS tubing, the XCR provides that seamless look while reducing frameset weight to less than 1.5kg. The Spirit HSS tubing delivers that classic slim frame profile valued by riders who pine for retro bike aesthetics, with modern steel ride quality and steering feel.

Live view of the assembly process

The custom build process doesn’t come cheap. Those Euros quickly escalate the price when you start piling on the options with Officine Mattio’s online configurator.

Once you’ve selected your ultimate frameset or complete bike, the process is expedited by the local dealer, Bikebay, who ensure your order is fulfilled and safely delivered into South Africa.

Customers can also virtually watch their frames going through the build process at every step via a Virtual Lab. In real-time. For those cyclists who are easily consumed by their new bike builds, this will be a welcome feature triggering anticipation every step of the way.

Once you take delivery of your unique frame or bike, you’ll be content with the fact that nobody else is going to pitch up at the local coffee stop with anything remotely similar to your Officine Mattio.
