It was a return to steel and a return to the fold for this collector from Gqeberha.

After initially getting into in cycling during the early 1980s, when he bought a locally made Le Turbo, David did "a few Argus’s and Herald Cycle Tours in the late 80s early 90s", eventually buying himself a steel Bianchi. "I had decided to try triathlon; I came from a swimming background and had done a bit of running, so the missing link was cycling!”.

The growing mountain bike segment then caught his interest, and this was the focus of his cycling for a couple of decades, until 2016. Doctor’s advice following shoulder replacement surgery meant time on the trails was probably not a good idea anymore.
