After a season of extreme highs and lows, Greg Minnaar uses all his experience to keep redefining the irrelevance of age in professional sport.

The last year nine months have not been easy for downhill mountain biking's most regarded rider. But his quality as an extreme athlete, remains beyond dispute. 

"When I won the World Championship, it was the pinnacle of my season. It was going to be tough to beat. Winning the World Champs was something that I hadn't won in a while. But everything just came crashing down after that," admits Minnaar.
