SOUTH Coast Tourism held a “literature festival” at the Ramsgate Whale Deck, attended by poets, authors, artists and historians on Thursday.

As part of the festival organisations and individuals displayed crafts and other wares.

Professor Stiebel spoke on KZN Literary Tourism and the South Coast Writers Trial. Author Pieter de Bruin shared how to get your book ready for submitting to an e-book publisher.

Vicky Wentzel of Ugu South Tourism said the festival was a huge success.

“This years inaugural festival was incredibly well supported and enjoyed by all. The Ramsgate Whale Deck proved to be the perfect venue and the support we received from the tourism committee as well as Ramsgate Conservancy was heartwarming,” said Wentzel.

The dates for the 2016 event has already been set - 24 and 25 September.

Wentzel said they look forward to growing this into an anchor event for Ramsgate
