PAC president expelled

2013-05-26 16:48

Johannesburg - PAC president Letlapa Mphahlele has been expelled from the party, it said on Sunday.

The decision was made on Friday, after a meeting of the Pan Africanist Congress's national disciplinary committee, it said in a document.

The committee said Mphahlele had been charged with failing to account for parliamentary and Independent Electoral Commission funds, not respecting national executive committee (NEC) decisions, and appointing a chief administrator even though the position was not catered for in the PAC constitution.

He had also been accused of creating a bogus NEC, appointing a publicity secretary, suspending deputy secretary general Bennett Joko without due process, failing to abide by a court order preventing him from holding a PAC meeting, and promoting factionalism within the party's ranks.

The committee said neither Mphahlele nor his legal representatives had attended its sittings on Wednesday and on Friday, and it had found him guilty on all charges.

It is painful to see a party that was led by one of African intellectuals Prof Robert Mangaliso dying this way.During his time the PAC was one of the biggest liberation movements in SA. The party has a leadership crisis.Has been like that since the death of Robert Sobukhwe. It would very interesting if they were playing the role that is being played by Democratic Alliance today

AWB and PAC both had a racist metality. We can do without both of them. Please quote me one reconciliatory statement and action that accompanied any statement. Anyone?

This in fighting is what caused the DA to take over as official opposition to the ANC. If only they could clean up they act this is the only party that challenges ideology not leadership.

This a real political party that shows a president is not bigger than a party unlike others presidents who are dictating to their organizations.
