WIN J&B Met tickets!

Cape Town - Sport24 are giving away FIVE sets of double tickets to the J&B Jet Lounge powered by 5FM at the 2013 J&B Met to be held at Kenilworth Racecourse on Saturday, February 2, 2013.

One of South Africa’s most celebrated outdoor social and sporting events, the 36th J&B Met will, once again, merge equestrian prowess with high fashion.

This year’s theme, 'Made to Fly', encourages the well heeled to spread their haute couture wings, to let their ideas take flight and to alight on the grounds in unforgettable stylish, sophisticated and glamorous garb. After all, while tradition and pageantry may constitute the core of the historical horse race, the J&B Met is just as much about ground breaking haute couture that challenges conventions and celebrates bold attitudes. Or, more simply, it’s about decadence, debauchery and ‘who’ you’re wearing.

What to expect at the 2013 J&B Met

Rub shoulders with movers, shakers and celebrities at Mzansi’s most prestigious sporting event, and watch 16 of the country’s top race horses test their mettle and compete for a stake of R2.5 million.

Bid on buxom chestnuts or strapping dapple greys, and schmooze with the rich and famous in the summer sun.

Visitors - the J&B Met Hospitality Village can host up to 2 500 - can wine and dine alfresco at the many picnic spots available or simply settle down for the day in the stands. No alcohol or beverages are allowed to be brought from home; the venue will have various on-course vendors selling drinks and mixers.

Get there early for the highlight of the day, the J&B ‘Most Elegant Couple Competition’. Due to its popularity and the increase in participants, the contest comes complete with a pre-judging process; couples are encouraged to arrive before noon to enter - judges will carefully select 16 finalists from hundreds of entrants. Winners stand a chance of winning his and hers gift vouchers to the tune of R5 000 from Cavendish Square as well as a range of fashion, beauty and hair goodies, holidays and much more.

And of course, while horse racing enthusiasts inspect the talent and place their bets, party animals can boogie down in VIP comfort at the J&B Lifestyle Village. This exclusive venue offers top-class entertainment from top DJs and the opportunity to mingle with the celebrities; not to mention, the stylish lounge setting boasts prime views of the race as well as first-class bars and food vendors. What’s more, the J&B Lifestyle Village Pass will allow guests access to reserved parking, entry to the racecourse and includes a coveted ticket to the official J&B Met After Party powered by 5FM.
